The main points for 2010

Mission: We are committed to sharing in God's mission to our Deanery.

To help us do this,

• We will provide activities and services that strengthen faith, love and discipleship so that Christians are empowered by the Spirit to proclaim Christ in deed and word.
  
  
• We will support each other in putting on events that are attractive to those seeking faith.
  
  
• We will continue to support each other in ministry to all ages; a particular priority is work among children, both in churches and in schools.
  
  
• We will work in partnership with other denominations in our deanery in order to further our mission opportunities.
  
  
• We will encourage thinking, praying and discussion about mission.

Ministry:

To help us do the above,

• We will continue to encourage all people in their gifts and vocations
  
  
• We recognise the increasingly central role that non-stipendiary ministers (lay and ordained) play in the life of our churches and will do all we can to develop and resource them.
  
  
• We will encourage flexibility in our deployment of ministry across different churches.

Money

To help us do both of the above,

• We will aim for all our churches to be on a positive financial foundation. We recognise the negative effect on morale when churches feel that they are always struggling financially.
  
  
• We will share good practoce in stewardship and other financial issues.
  
  
• We will look for ways to help those churches in financial difficulties by sharing resources, including personnel.
